TOUR AT THE SURREY ART GALLERY

Thanks to everyone who came out to the tour at Surrey Art Gallery. We were lucky to have Ann Thomas give us a tour of the exhibition Flora and Fauna: 400 Years of Artists Inspired by Nature. Special thanks to Jordan Strom and the team at the Surrey Art Gallery for making us feel so welcome and for the beautiful reception post-tour. We just thought we'd share some photos of the exhibition as well as more information on all of the artists who are part of this fantastic show.

Flora and Fauna: 400 Years of artists Inspired by Nature, a touring exhibition organized by the National Gallery includes 74 extraordinary artworks from the 16th through 20th centuries, including strong representation from Great Britain with works by Lucian Freud, Charles Rennie McIntosh, William de Morgan. Postwar American photography by the likes of Lee Friedlander, Stephen Shore, and Joel Sternfeld; Extraordinary contemporary works by Canadians Aganetha and Richard Dyck, Shary Boyle, Lorraine Gilbert and Michel Campeau. Some wonderful 19th century photography from France Hippolyte Bayard, Eugène Atget, and Jean-Gabriel Eynard. And lovely 16th century Indian watercolour and German insect prints from the 17th century, among many other offerings.

Also on concurrently at the Surrey Art Gallery, Cascadia: A Juried Exhibition of West Coast Flora and Fauna. Cascadia showcases the art of more than thirty artists from Surrey and the surrounding region who are exploring the biological diversity and ecology of the West Coast.
